07-15-2004 - June was a busy month for fairs. In addition to METAV in Düsseldorf, AUTOMATICA was also held for the first time in Munich. SCHUNK staged successful appearances at both fairs.

METAV 2004
The world's fourth-largest international fair for production engineering and automation - METAV 2004 - presented the whole spectrum of production engineering for the metal-working industry. From 15 to 19 June 2004, SCHUNK presented its complete product range from the fields of clamping equipment, stationary clamping systems and tool holder systems.

SCHUNK's new stand concept, the appealing open design and the opportunity to "get to grips" with the products were very well received. "The atmosphere on the stand and among the co-exhibitors was good," says Markus Berger, Sales Manager Clamping Systems and Tool Holders. According to Mr. Berger, the new products were especially well received, and UNILOCK in particular.
Trends and innovations forum
VDW presented the trends and innovations forum "Tool and mould making" at METAV in collaboration with Aachener Werkzeug- und Formenbau (awf).
Over 40 companies presented their innovations in the industry's key fields. SCHUNK's successful participation in this forum spotlighted the UNILOCK NSE 176 quick change pallet system and new SINO-T and TRIBOS lines.

AUTOMATICA 2004
The company's participation in the 1st International Trade Fair for Robotics + Information at the new Munich trade fair centre was also a resounding success. AUTOMATICA presented a comprehensive range of new products in four exhibition halls, covering the core areas of assembly and handling technology, industrial image processing, robotics, robot vision and the technologies pertaining to robotics. |

In addition to its current standard programme, SCHUNK presented over 20 new products from the areas of gripper systems, PLUSTRONIK, LIRAX and robot accessories at its 260 m² stand. Some exhibits were on static display, while others were presented in moving applications. All the new products were additionally presented in the latest flyer, "Highlights 2004".

Co-exhibitors
Another highlight was the incorporation of SCHUNK's FTC force-torque sensor into a robot application from the Tettnang-based systems manufacturer GmbH. The joint stand was located directly next to SCHUNK's stand. This enabled the FTC's sensitivity and different applications to be demonstrated in impressive style.
amtec-robotics was also integrated into the SCHUNK stand as a co-exhibitor for the first time. Visitors to the fair were highly impressed by the products" modular concept and the innovative and interesting research applications. amtec-robotics" appearance was rounded off by the new product catalogue and two talks presented at the Automatica forum.
